Welcome to EURIPA
EURIPA is a representative organisation founded by family doctors to address the health needs of rural communities and the professional needs of those serving them. It represents a growing network of rural practitioners and organisations across Europe working together to disseminate good practice and initiate research.
EURIPA 3rd Rural Health Forum "Education and Training for Rural Practice" 11th - 13th May 2012; Island of Pag, Croatia
The EURIPA annual European Rural Health Forum had been planned for Northern Portugal in May, (11th-13th May). Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control or those of our Portuguese hosts, we have had to change the venue at this late date.
The Executive of EURIPA apologise for any inconvenience that we might have caused you. Our overriding aim was to rescue the Forum and act in the interests of EURIPA and the thousands of Rural Doctors across Europe.
We are immensely grateful to our colleagues in Croatia and the Executive Board of KoHOM who have taken over the running of the Forum at such a late date.
The venue will be on the beautiful Adriatic coast, close to the International Airport in Split.
The change of arrangements has left us having to make up considerable time. I have great confidence in the ability of our new hosts to work with us to run a Forum meeting as successful as the 2 we have already had.
The 3rd Rural Health Forum’s theme will be “Training and Education for Rural Practice” with 8 sub-themes will be
- Teaching undergraduates in rural practice
- Training for rural practice
- CPD for rural practice
- Training for emergencies and Out of Hours
- Interprofessional Learning (IPE) in Rural Practice
- Rural Education Research and developing a rural academic base
- The contribution of education to recruitment and retention
- Developing higher qualifications in rural practice and rural health

How you can get involved with EURIPA
EURIPA runs a list server which enables members to talk to each other. Programmes for WONCA Europe and other conferences are put together using the list server, for example, and useful information about rural health and wellbeing discussed on the list server. The more members that EURIPA has the more useful the list server becomes. If you would like to join the List server you can email either Jane Randall-Smith, Executive Secretary, or Dr John Wynn-Jones, President.
