Progress has been made over the last year towards developing an outlet for information relating to European rural health issues, through the Australian Journal of Remote and Rural Health. Following discussions it has been decided to have a European section within this electronic world journal from Australia. The journal is free to contributors and readers. Publishing assistance is offered to non-English speaking contributors.
Rural and Remote Health is keen to publish material from across Europe in both peer reviewed and non-reviewed sections. Further discussion is encouraged via a 'letters to the editor page'. The European editor is Professor Christos Lionis from the University of Crete.
Work continues to progress this venture and listserver members will be kept informed of progress. Approval will be sought to proceed to elect further editorial representation and to develop the group of peer review personal that will be needed.
