EURACT Snowball Symposium: "Teaching about relationships with difficult patients in Family Medicine/General Practice”

Breakout room discussions and theoretical presentation lead by the chair Dr Razvan Miftode and co-chair Dr Arabelle Rieder. Theoretical contribution of 3 professionals in Family Medicine and research: Adriana Antohe,  Mihaela Udrescu and Mihai Iacob. Members of Euract will act as facilitators in these groups and help pull it all together in the end.

Intended learning outcomes:

  • Discuss and share experience and knowledge about difficult relationships with patients
  • Learn about best practices for dealing with difficult relationships
  • Define strategies to supervise students and trainees who are faced with these situations

Facilitators

Dr Razvan Miftode

Dr Razvan Miftode is a practising family doctor in Iasi, Romania, and vice-president of Romanian National Society of FM/GP. He is a trainer of trainers, heavily involved in continuous professional development as well as in quality assessment or audit of health services also at European level

Dr Arabelle Rieder

Dr Rieder is a practising family doctor and teacher who works at Geneva Medical School as a senior lecturer since 2010. As head of Faculty development in the Family Medicine Institute she trains GP/FDs who mentor medical students and trainees in their practice.

 

Dr Mihaela Udrescu

Holds a Master Degree in Family Medicine and a Specialist  in Gastroenterology from Faculty of Medicine, U.M.F. “Carol Davila” Bucharest. With a rich professional activity in family medicine and in gastroenterology at their own private practice. She has been an expert in regional pilot screening programs for viral hepatitis B / C / D and colorectal cancer. Former National Coordinator of GastRO Group of Romanian Society of Family Doctors (SNMF). In present is National Coordinator of DermAlergo Group of Roumanian Society of Family Doctors (SNMF).

 

Dr Adriana Antohe

Adriana is a practising Family Physician and resident trainer, with special interest in prevention and lifestyle changes that promotes health. Adriana is a member of RespiRO (part of IPCRG) and is now involved in a research project, related to smoking habits of adolescents - FreshAir4Life.

 

Dr Mihai Sorin Iacob

Vicepresident of Romanian National Society of Family Medicine, Coordinator of the Excellence Group of Ultrasound in Family Medicine and President of EUVEKUS. Dr. Iacob has been strongly involved in patient-centered care, clinical ultrasonography, and preventive medicine but also in medical education and post-graduate training. He was awarded the Montegut Scholarship in 2023

 

Dr Pavlo Kolesnyk

GP/FM Specialist – Teacher and Head of the Family Medicine and Outpatient Care Department of Medical Faculty #2, Uzhgorod National University, Ukraine. Director of the international teaching volunteer clinic "InerFamily" for internally displaced people during war in Ukraine. Awarded as ‘5 Star Doctor of WONCA Europe’ in 2023.

Dr Chloé Delacour

Chloé Delacour is a practising family doctor and teacher who works at Strasbourg Medical School. She is a member of the Center of education and research in medical education of Strasbourg and has a master’s degree in medical education.

 

Dr Roxana Chiruță

Dr Roxana Chiruță is a specialist in General Practice (GP), with extensive experience in medical  education and a particular focus on continuous training. Holding both an MD and PhD, she is active in several specialized fields, including primary care gastroenterology. She is an active member of  EURACT, ESPCG (European Society for Primary Care Gastroenterology), and SNMF (National Society of Family Medicine) Additionally, she is a key member of the ROCCAS Project  and has contributed to the SPER Program, both creening programmes of colorectal cancer

Dr Gabriela Luchian

Dr.  Gabriela Luchian is practicing family medicine in rural,Vaslui County ,Romania,she became trainer of trainers and to improve her teaching skills she attended Leonardo 3 in November 2024. She is organizing monthly meetings, courses and workshops for her GP colleagues through local  Asociation and strongly believes that sharing experiences and knowledges is the best way to perform at your best

Dr Cristina Barbu

Cristina Vasilica Barbu is a practising family doctor in the rural area of Cotnari, Iași, Romania. Former member of the Executive Commitee of EURIPA, member of EURACT and the Immunisation Group of the Romanian National Society of Family Medicine. Trainer of trainees. She has been strongly involved in promoting preventive medecine, especially lifelong Immunization.
