The WIttenberg Statement was adopted at the 14th EURIPA Rural Health Forum which took place at Lutherstadt Wittenberg from 26 - 28 June 2025.
The Statement reflects discussions that took place during the Forum to address the title and sub themes of the Forum. .
The title, "Rural Reformation: Meeting Wellbeing and Healthcare Needs in Rural Communities", was chosen as the Forum took place in Lutherstadt WIttenberg, which is known as the birthplace of the Protestant Reformation, Wittenberg is where Martin Luther famously nailed his 95 Theses to the door of the Castle Church in 1517. This act set in motion a profound transformation of religious, political, and cultural life across Europe.
