EURIPA Privacy Statement

The European Rural and Isolated Practitioners Association (EURIPA) is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. Protecting your privacy is important to us.

This statement explains when and why we collect personal information, how we use it and how we keep it secure.

What is EURIPA?

EURIPA is a representative network organisation founded by family doctors to address the health and wellbeing needs of rural communities and the professional needs of those serving them across Europe.

EURIPA is a network or WONCA Europe (www.wonceeurope.org) and also Rural WONCA. WONCA is the World organisation for National Councils and Associations of Family Doctors (www.wonca.net)

EURIPA is hosted by EURIPA France, which is registered in France.

What personal information do we hold about you?

When you join our mailing list or become a member, you provide EURIPA with information about yourself.

The personal information we hold may include your name, address, phone number, email address, country, job title, photo, invoice address, communication preference, place of employment and your areas of special interest.

When you join our Membership Scheme payment is made using an official authorised payment processing system (PayPal) and we do not store credit or debit card data.

How do we use of this information?

We will use your information to:

  • Keep you in touch with our activities through our mailing lists
  • Send you our newsletters
  • Manage your EURIPA membership
  • Invite you to join specific activities
  • Seek your views or comments on the services we provide

We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity.

Who has access to your information?

We will only share your information with third parties with your explicit consent, and only for the specific purpose that was agreed upon.

We will not sell or rent your information to third parties.

We will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Our mailing lists (EURIPA and EURIPA IAB) are hosted by Yahoo and our web site is hosted by WONCA Europe. Both organisations have their own privacy policies.

Security of your data

When you give us personal information, we take steps to ensure that it is treated securely. We will take all reasonable precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of information you give us.

For our mailing lists we use another third-party service provider to enable us to collect, store or process your data. We chose this provider as we deem to be adequately secure and to perform their duties in compliance with European data protection regulations.

As a member, your personal data is collected, stored and processed on a membership management system through our web site and a record of our members is held internally by EURIPA. This is a secure, password-protected system, and the data is stored on servers located in the EU.

You have a choice about whether or not you wish to receive information from EURIPA. If you do not want to continue to receive direct communications from EURIPA you are able to unsubscribe from our mailing lists.

If a membership is not renewed EURIPA commits to delete your personal information as promptly as possible.

Use of 'cookies'

Like many others, our website uses cookies. Cookies collect statistical data about your browsing actions and patterns and do not identify you as an individual.

We keep this Statement under regular review and we may change it from time to time so please check our website (www.euripa.org) occasionally to ensure that you are happy with any changes. By joining our network and becoming a member you are agreeing to this Statement.
